31. How Endocrine Disruptors Impact Perimenopause
One thing I never thought about when I first started my health “journey” was how the products I was using on my skin and in my home were potentially affecting my hormones, and in turn, my health.

I hear from a lot of women who start hormone replacement therapy that they don’t feel right, they often feel worse, and they get frustrated because their provider doesn’t give them much support. And unfortunately, they get discouraged and even stop taking hormones. This is upsetting to me as I’ve found so much benefit from being on HRT, I’ve seen great outcomes with clients, and I know it can be incredibly health supportive for so many women, of course, in addition to vital food & lifestyle changes in perimenopause and beyond.
My fellow THR coach and partner in crime, Tonya Romano and I sit down to discuss the her insights and personal experience on perimenopause and menopause. She speaks to how she's personally witnessed The Hormone Rescue supporting women during this transitional, (and sometimes chaotic) period in their life.
In this episode I’m dive into those crazy perimenopause periods. This will definitely shed some light if you're in your late 30s-40s and your periods are starting to change.
Today I'll cover what to expect if and when you start HRT, because so many women are scared to start, they don’t know what’s gonna happen, and quite frankly, in the online space, many tout HRT as being a “must-have” or a “silver bullet’.
In this episode I’m covering another very common symptom that women struggle with as their hormones decline: anxiety. Women are about twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and take anti-anxiety medications. About 15% to 50% of perimenopausal women may experience anxiety, often accompanied by depression, insomnia, and forgetfulness.
